Item Description

One of the classic localities in the world is the Ojuela Mine, which is famous for world-classic specimens of species like Adamite and Legrandite, but over 130 species are found there including common minerals like Gypsum. This is a FINE quality example of the seldom seen "Selenites" from Ojuela featuring a pair of WATER CLEAR, colorless, very sharp, well-formed, monoclinic prisms of Gypsum measuring up to 3.6 cm with minor attached tan colored matrix (partially included in the crystals). The main Gypsum is textbook quality, remarkably fine quality and beautiful to view in person. A wonderful representation of this hard to find material, as good Gypsum specimens are simply not seen from Ojuela like this. If you like Gypsum, or collect Ojuela specimens then this one is a must have for your collection. Priced at $700 in the inventory for the quality and the fact that it might be the best miniature sized specimen of Gypsum we've had to offer from the locality period.
