Item Description

There are few places in the world the produce fine qualit crystallized specimens of Lazulite and the Yukon Territory has produced the finest examples of the species known. Here we have a wonderful small cabinet display specimen featuring dozens of excellent quality, razor-sharp, highly lustrous, rich inky blue colored crystals of Lazulite measuring up to 8 mm sitting atop a layer of small prismatic Quartz crytals with associated minor golden Siderite rhombs on matrix. I honestly feel that these specimens deserve more credit than they get for their quality and scarceness on the market. Many people don't realize that it's notoriously difficult to collect specimens at Rapid Creek as it's not only covered by snow most of the year, but the terrain is quite hazardous. Overall the piece is in great shape, as the vast majority of the crystals are undamaged, but there are some small nicks here and there. Under strong lighting, you can see that they show small glowing highlights of strong blue and green tones. From the collection of Ed Ruggiero and obtained in 1976 according to his 3x5 index card label. Valued at $850 in the inventory.
