Item Description

The famous Siglo XX Mine one of the most impressive Bolivian localities hands down due to the sheer quantity and quality of specimens produced for over 100 years. The mine is well-known for its wonderful phosphate species, but it has also been the source of some superb large Japan-Law twin Quartz specimens. Here we have a great cabinet sized specimen featuring a predominant, sharp, lustrous, beautiful, very gemmy, colorless Japan-Law twin of Quartz measuring 5.1 cm across along with a few partial Japan twins among the dozens of single, prisms of sharp, gemmy Quartz crystals on matrix. For a nice touch, you can see a composite group of dark reddish-black Hubnerite on the piece which measures 1.8 cm. Good quality for what it is, and the mine hasn't produced any of them in several years now it seems. Valued at $800 in the inventory.
