Item Description

A cool colorless Fluorite specimen with SUPERB gemminess and that classic colorless hue that is seen in Dal'negorsk specimens. The lack of color actually means this is chemically pure Fluorite, as colored Fluorites have some kind of impurities / chromaphores that create the color. This piece shows a predominantly cubic habit with noteworty dodecahedral modifications, and TINY octahedral faces on the corners. The main Fluorite measures 1.7 cm on edge and is sitting on a matrix composed of main Quartz and jet black Sphalerite. The piece is in excellent shape, with no real damage that I can see with the naked eye, and the main Fluorite is so beautifully set atop the specimen for ideal aesthetics. fluorite is found in virtually all colors of the rainbow, but colorles material is rare for the species. These famous specimens from Dal'negorsk have been given the nickname "ice cubes" due to their amazing clarity and lack of color. A great association specimen from the 2010 find. Valued at $950 in the inventory.
