An excellent and well-formed polished egg-shaped lapidary specimen featuring gemmy Smoky Quartz richly filled with brilliant, reddish-golden color Rutile needles from Diamantina. The combination of Rutile included in Quartz is very desirable from Diamantina, and to find an egg this size is certainly noteworthy for the locality and the material. This is classic material from an old East Coast collection, probably dating back around 40-50 years. Specimen weight is 514 grams. Valued at $700.
