Item Description

These are truly some of the most distinctive crystals in the world because virtually no other species has this amazing color. These Manganese-bearing Vesuvianite crytals are rather vibrant with an intense reddish-violet color. This eye-catching small cabinet specimen features prismatic crystals with the classic purplish-pink color that is intermixed with starkly slightly green zones of Vesuvianite within the same crystals. They have great luster and form as well. The largest crystal on the specimen measures 2.0 cm long. Pieces like this are becoming very scarce on the market, and truly should be appreciated for the uniqueness. The Jeffrey Quarry is now completely defunct and these amazing Vesuvianite specimens are no longer being found. Great condition, and the main crystal on the front of the piece is actually DOUBLY-TERMINATED! Ex Charlie Key personal collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite). Valued at $800 in the inventory.
