Item Description

This mine might be known for only a few species, but the best Fluorites are among the most desirable examples of the species out there. This piece is a really fine quality specimen from the standpoint of transparency. At first glance, one might think it's a simple purple cube, but upon close inpsection, you can see the corner is actually a pleasing yellow color - making this a very interesting bi-colored Fluorite from Elmwood - and if you view directly through the corner you can see that the crystal is virtually WATER CLEAR inside! The piece is contacted on the back, and there are a few tiny nicks here and ther, but it's the OPTIC GEM clarity of the piece that makes it so desirable. More than likely this piece was mined in the late 1970s. Priced at $900 in the inventory.
