Item Description

An impressive and truly significant crystallized Petalite from Brazil. Typically Petalite from Brazil - and all world localities - is incredibly difficult to find in sharp, well-formed, euhedral crystals. This gorgeous miniature display specimen not only features a pair of notably sharp, well-formed crystals with textbook monoclinic terminations, but they are incredibly GEMMY (nearly water clear in areas) to boot! The piece is in wonderful shape overall, but there is a slight contact near the top front corner of the larger crystals. It's actually almost doubly-terminated, as you can see the start of another termination at the bottom of the piece, making is close to a "floater". Petalite is certainly a gem species, but it's incredibly hard to find good gem CRYSTALS, as we almost always encounter either massive examples with no real crystal structure, or broken fragments. If you collect gem crystals or Brazilian minerals, this is an important piece of something that is rarely available on the market today. Mined in the 1980s, and one of the best crystallized examples from Brazil that we've had to offer. Valued at $1,275 in the inventory.
