Description:Fluorite is an incredibly abundant and colorful species, beloved by collectors for centuries. It is literally found in every color of the rainbow, but the most sought after hue for the species arguably is pink (and red in very rare cases) from various worldwide localities. This piece is a wonderful GEM quality Fluorite group from the famous locality at Chumar Bakhoor. The Fluorite show a combination of cube, dodecahedron and octahedral faces, which alternate between very luster and matte luster. There is actually no apparent twinning to be seen on the Fluorite, which is unusual as there are many "Spinel"-twins seen from this locality. The Fluorite is virtually 100% WATER CLEAR, but it's incredibly difficult to photograph, so you can't see the clarity as well as you can in person. A few blades of silvery-golden Muscovite make for a lovely accent. Superb condition on the top / display side, and the only real damage is on the underside where it was detached from the pocket wall. Valued at $1,400 in the inventory. From the worldwide collection of Tom Campbell. Tom is a mineralogist and mineral collect who works with us here at The Arkenstone. He has over 35 years of experience in the fields of exploration geology, mining, and applied mineralogy, and has even more years under his belt as a collector! Tom has described many new species over the years, and discovered the rare phosphates Tiptopite, Fransoletite and Pahasapaite. Tom was also a co-author on the second edition of the Encyclopedia of Minerals. You can see a list of Tom's published works here ( https://www.irocks.com/thomas-j-campbell-publications-list ).
