Item Description

A very attractive cabinet specimen of these fairly new "Grape Agate" or "Grape Chalcedony" specimens from Indonesia. I have to say that this one genuinely looks like grapes due to the purple color and spherical shape of the aggregates. I've noticed that these pieces have dried up very quickly, and little is available on the market. The first specimens to come out had great color (like this piece), and then more recently a lot of stuff seems to be fairly dull and more of a grey color. This specimen is filled with semi-spherical, translucent, semi-resinous "balls" or spheroids measuring up to 4 mm free of matrix. This piece is nearly what I would call a complete "floater" as it's almost crystallized 100% of the way around. Superb condition overall, and this is a great chance to own a piece of this strange and gorgeous material. Priced in the inventory at $895.
