Tourmaline (multicolor) (7.01 grams) (ex Tom Campbell Collection)

Item Description

A classic multicolor Tourmaline specimen from the famous Santa Rosa Mine in Brazil. This is an older specimen dating back to the 1990s. The piece is a complete, prismatic crystal group featuring several very sharp, highly lustrous, very gemmy, thin crystals with a gorgeous range of colors that can be seen with moderate backlighting. The base of the piece shows a rich greenish hue which transitions into a gorgeous Indicolite blue color and ends with a colorless Achroite hue at the top of the piece. The termination is undamaged, but it does have a tiny overgrowth that gives it a slightly "stacked" appearance, but I looked at it with a loupe and it's not damaged. The piece is nearly 100% gem quality, and it's really impressive to see such rich color in a thin crystal group like this. Specimen weight is 7.01 grams.
