Item Description

Coppers from Bisbee are not particularly rare, but to find a piece like this is certainly uncommon in my experience. This piece features a central vug lined with off-white colored scalenohedral "dogtooth" Calcite crystals which play host to a somewhat arborescent group of notably sharp, distinct, well-formed Copper crystals which are growing like little tree branches. The outer matrix is oxidized host rock with a bit of scattered green Malachite for a nice contrast. The Copper was not terrible easy to photograph, but if you look at the close up photos, you can see they are very attractive and show several different habits including cubes, octahedrons and dodecahedrons. A great old piece from Bisbee that is accompanied by a dealer label and an old typed label dating back about 50+ years.
