These are some of the most beautiful Malachite specimens to come out of the Kolwezi Mine in the Congo. Instead of the typical spherical / mammillary aggregates, this piece features discernible crystals in the form of fibrous "needles" intergrown and free of matrix. Some of the crystals have formed "tuft"-like groups, while other have more of a jackstraw appearance. The rich emerald green color combined with velvety chatoyance make it a truly desirable and eye-catching display specimen of this classic material. The largest individual "needle" measures about 2.3 cm long. Priced in the inventory at $750.
