Item Description

A fantastic cabinet specimen from this well-known find in 2005 in Bolivia. For the most part, Pyrites from Bolivia are not found in good quality, displayable,, attractive, well-crystallized specimens. This specimen however a VERY good example from this limited find, and one of the best piece I've offered of this material in the auctions. The cabinet display is crystallized on every side, and almost completely undamaged. It is LOADED with several very good sized octahedra modified by trapezohedra which is a notably rare crystal habit for this well-known sulfide species. The largest crystal measures 1.3 cm across, which is very good sized for the locality. The piece was hard to photograph, but take my word for it that all of the Pyrite crystals are very bright and shiny. If you collect sulfides, Pyrites or Bolivian minerals, you can't afford to miss out on this eye-catching specimen from this small find at the Canutillos Mine. Valued at $950 in the inventory.
