Item Description

It should be noted that the locality on this specimen is most likely incorrect, as it was originally labeled as coming from the "Silver Bell Mine" in Pima County. With that said, this cabinet sized specimen small, beautiful, gemmy, rich greenish-blue colored Rosasite "balls" which are sitting on crystallized aggregates of white Smithsonite on black host rock matrix. The piece looks fantastic under magnification, and is one of the best cabinet specimens of this association that we've ever had to offer from this locality west of Tucson. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3318). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Priced at $800 in the inventory.
