Item Description

A classic older specimen from the famous Pederneira Mine dating back to the early 1980s. The piece features a large crystallized "ball" of bladed white Albite (var: Cleavelandite) with a slightly bluish overtone which plays host to a handful of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, wonderful, classic, striated, prismatic multicolor crystals of Tourmaline measuring up to 3.6 cm long. The main Tourmaline crystal is complete, euhedral and fully terminated with no damage, but it's actually the secondary crystals on the piece that are most of interest. Many of these Tourmalines are actually "hollow" showing an outer shell which are partially filled-in or replaced by purple colored "Lepidolite" mica. A really cool and unusual piece from this classic locality that would make a superb addition to any Tourmaline suite or Brazilian collection. Formerly in the collection of Fred J. Parker. This piece was priced at $1,800 in our inventory, so this is a great chance to pick up a fine example of this hard to find material for your collection.
