Fluorite (Spinel-Twin) (RARE for the locality)

Item Description

This locality has produced some amazing examples of a handful of species, including some iconic Fluorites. This piece is a very hard to find and beautiful Spinel-law twinned crystal of Fluorite. The piece is quite gemmy (nearly water clear) when backlit, despite the fact that it has dark inky purple color zoning on the exterior faces. It's actually nearly colorless inside, and has a small amount of green coloration on the base. It's complete all the way around, except on the bottom where it detached from the matrix. Valued in the inventory at $850 for the quality, and the fact that these twins are nearly impossible to obtain from this locality.
