Item Description

Peruvian Pyrites are among the best in the world for the species. As common as Pyrite may be, there is no denying that Peruvian specimens for decades have consistently been large, fine quality and showy! This wonderful large cabinet display specimen is loaded with high quality, very sharp, splendent, light golden color metallic cubic crystals with beautiful striations on the broad faces. Many crystals show classic, thin, elegant pyritohedral modifications on the edges! Additionally, the piece is studded with dozens of small crystals of equal quality and habit to the larger ones. The majority of the crystals are undamaged, but there are a few nicks, which is par for the course for a specimen this size from any Peruvian locality. Overall, the piece is big, eye-catching and great quality. This is an older specimen dating back to the 1970s. Valued in the inventory at $1,500 for size, quality and displayability. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the size and weight on this specimen, there will be an additional shipping charge, please keep this in mind when bidding.
