Item Description

The various pegmatites in Pakistan have produced some amazing specimens of Fluorapatite over the last few decades, and while they are often pink in color, they are typically a softer pink hue. THIS specimen is a break from the norm featuring an incredibly richly colored prism of Fluoraptite that glows with a very saturated red-pink color when backlit. The crystal is sitting beautifully on bladed white Albite (var: Cleavelandite) with a minor amount of associated "Lepidolite" Mica. Sprinkled all over the specimen are small prismatic Tourmaline crystals which show a bit of a "cat's eye" effect when rotated in the light, and a strange coloring featuring greenish-yellow, bluish, and almost white/colorless hues. The Apatite crystal measures 2.5 cm long and is actually doubly-terminated. Very good quality all around, and the intense color of the Apatite makes it all the more desirable. No major damage that I can see, and it's so showy and aesthetic. Priced at $2,250 in our inventory.
