Item Description

Broken Hill is one of the most prolific secondary ore mineral localities in the world, and has produced some incredibly eye-catching mineral specimens. This piece is a unique, distinctive and really desirable Pyromorphite from Broken Hill as it's very different from nearly every specimen I've seen from this classic locale. It should be noted that the piece was difficult to photograph, and looks better in person. It's rather three-dimensional and features "finger"-like forms of Pyromorphite which comprises hundreds of tiny radial "sprays" of crystals with a gorgeous silvery-brown hue sitting on a slab of silvery Galena matrix. The crystals have an almost semi-metallic luster when rotated in the light, and they looks beautiful when viewed under magnification. If you collect secondary ore mineral, world-wide Pyromorphites or minerals of Broken Hill, don't miss out on this one, as it's very special and eye-catching. A fantastic overall specimen from this world famous specimen producing locality. Valued at $2,000 in the inventory. From the collection of Dr. Barratt Phillips, MD.
