Item Description

A wonderful full cabinet display specimen of the classic Uchuccchacua Rhodorhcosites. These are easily the most recognizable Rhodos from any Peruvian (or even South American) locality. This piece features a somewhat narrow seam that is loaded with excellent quality, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich pinkish-red colored modified scalenohedral crystals measuring up to 1.0 cm on contrasting black manganese-bearing matrix. You can see a few small pale colored Fluorites mixed in for a nice touch. Nearly every single Rhodo is undamaged and they look fantastic up close. This is a great specimen of this beloved material. Valued in the inventory at $2500. From the worldwide Rhodochrosite collection of Dr. William S. Logan (Specimen #X38).
