Item Description

Around 2008 there was a find of these unique, beautiful and unusual Fluorites from the Minggang Mine in Henan. This piece is from the initial discovery and features a cluster of unusually botryoidal Fluorites with a gorgeous purple color that have formed a semi-stalactite-esque group on host rock matrix. The best part of the piece to me is the internal color that shows up when it's backlit, as the "balls" are gemmy enough to pass light. The top of the group is undamaged, but it is contacted around the base where it was removed from the pocket wall. This piece is better than most of this style from Minggang as it has a richer color, better gemminess, and even though it's not super lustrous, it still has a bit of a residual matte luster. If you collect Fluorites or Chinese minerals, you can't afford to miss out on this attractive small cabinet specimen from a discovery from over 10 years ago. Valued at $2,400 in the inventory for quality, form, color and rarity on the market.
