Silver (ex Creus Collection)

Here we have a wonderful near full cabinet sized display specimen of the unique and eye-catching Silver specimens from the Balcoll Mine in Spain. This particular piece comes from the collection of Joan Abella i Creus, who collected the majority of the pieces. The locality actually dates back to the middle ages, but was closed long ago. These specimens were collected off the dumps from September to November 2004. This piece features a mix of thin almost acicular Silver crystals, somewhat in the form of wires, while others look like very thin "Spinel"-twins which are associated with beautiful aborescent gropus and semi-crystalline spherical groups of Silver on contrasting white Calcite matrix. Very good quality, and beautiful to view under magnification. Valued at $1,750 in the inventory.
