Item Description

One of the most classic localities for Adamite in the world is the Ojuela Mine in Mexico. These specimens are some of the most beautiful and iconic material for the species. This particular specimen is not your typical Ojuela Adamite as the crystals have formed in somewhat "spire"-like growths, almost columnar in their appearance alongside the contrasting Limonite matrix. I have to say that I honestly have never seen Adamites that have grown quite like this, they almost remind me of something organic. There are many lustrous, translucent, yellow-green crystals with attractive "wedge"-shaped or "clamshell" terminations just flaring out of the Limonite. For the most part, the piece is in good condition, though it's not 100% pristine as there is a bit of edge wear along the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. This is a great small cabinet size specimen and the best of this material will go down as some of the finest quality and color Adamite in history. If you collect Adamites, Mexican minerals or specifically specimens from the Ojuela Mine, don't miss out on this very attractive and unusual piece. BETTER IN PERSON, hard to convey the quality in the photos. Priced at $1,850 in the inventory.
