Item Description

When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the last 20 years. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Pakistani Himalayas, especially the pieces from around Shigar. This locality has produced some of the most exciting Aquamarine specimens in recent years. This piece features outstanding quality, incredibly sharp, glassy, WATER CLEAR / GEM QUALITY, beautiful blue color, prismatic, hexagonal crystals of Aquamarine with gorgeous first and second order modifications on the terminations. The largest Aqua measures up to 2.6 cm. Interestingly, the modifications on the crystals are slightly frosted, but you can look directly through the pinacoid of each crystal and see straight down the "c" axis all the way through each Aquamarine. The Aquas are associated with slightly smoky colored, translucent, sharp, hexagonal, prismatic crystals of Quartz and several attractive "books" of bronze to white colored Muscovite sitting on white Albite matrix. The Aquamarine crystals are in great shape overall (though one is contacted on the back side), and the piece can be displayed from several angles as you can see from the photos. Not only are the Aquas TOP quality and showy, but they have tremendously GLASSY luster and notably smooth faces. On top of that, the fact that the crystals are simply WATER CLEAR like POOLS of BLUE ICE, is remarkable for the material. VERY little damage, the piece is almost perfect. HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH and BETTER IN PERSON! The entire specimen weighs 410 grams for what it 's worth. This is a fantastic, showy, attractive matrix display specimen with great aesthetics, top crystal quality and nice color contrast from this most prestigious of Pakistani pegmatite localities. This piece was priced at $3,500.00 in our inventory
