Item Description

A very attractive display specimen of Azurite on Malachite from the prolific Liufengshan Mine. It features wonderful, sparkling, lustrous, deep midnight blue Azurite "balls" which are elegantly set atop velvety forest and mint green colored Malachite. The largest Azurite "ball" meaures 1.2 cm across, and nearly all of them are pristine, save a bit around the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall, but it is along that edge where you can see how the Azurite formed in radial growths - rare for the locality! The color contrast is just beautiful and truly resembles classic material from Bisbee, Arizona. These specimens are certainly among the most celebrated contemporary Azurite specimens out there. Valued at $1,950 for quality, contrast and sheer visceral beauty.
