Uruguayan Amethysts are renowned for their incredible quality, intense deep color, and impressively large specimen. This is a really attractive big cabinet display specimen of crystallized Amethyst from the famous deposits in the Artigas Department. The piece is loaded fine quality, very sharp, gemmy, grape jelly purple color hexagonal crystals with HIGH luster and textbook form in a semi-"burst"-like shape. The Amethysts have grown on a layer of white Quartz with a big of off-white-silvery Agate / Chalcedony underneath. No real damage that I can see with the naked eye, and when the crystals are backlit, they show a fantastic rich electric purple color. Individual crystals are difficult to measure, but I gauged them up to 1.7 cm. Priced at $1,850 in the inventory.
