Bastnasite-(Ce) pseudomorph after Donnayite-(Y) (rare and fine)

A fantastic and incredibly fine quality pseudomorph from the world famous, historic and HIGHLY prolific locailty at Mont Saint-Hilaire. A superb 1.2 cm pseudomorph of Bastnasite-(Ce) replacing a textbook hexagonal crystal of Donnayite-(Y) sitting aesthetically atop matrix. It should be noted that the Poudrette Quarry is the type locality for Donnayite-(Y). Sparkling metallic golden Pyrite can be seen on the reverse side of the pseudo. Superb quality and virtually to find on the market these days. This has to be the best example of this particular material that we've seen from MSH. The piece was priced YEARS ago in the inventory at $1,600 and is certainly worth more today as it is now very difficult to obtain specimens from this locality as collecting has been limited / reduced in recent years.
