Item Description

A tremendous, large, hefty specimen of Fluorite from the famous Naica Mine dating back 30+ years. The piece is loaded with large, impressive, gemmy, soft lilac colored crystals of Fluorite which shows a myriad of habits - predominantly octahedral, but with cubic, dodecahedral and tetrahexahedral modifications - covering all sides of this stout cabinet specimen. Anybody interested in crystal morphology would spend a great deal of time looking at the hundreds of crystal faces on this one! You can see there are sub-surface inclusions of golden metallic Pyrite, with a few pyritohedral crystals sitting on the surface. Overall, the piece is in very good condition with a few contacts here and there, but the vast majority of the crystals are damage free, save the base of the piece where it was removed from the pocket wall. The largest Fluorite crystal measures 4.1 cm across, and for the quality, crystallization and overall aesthetics, it is a fantastic cabinet from this incredible mine. Valued at $2,500 in the inventory. Specimen weight is 1,337 grams. PLEASE NOTE: There will be an additional shipping charge based upon the size and weight of this specimen, so please keep this in mind when bidding.
