Description:These are classics from Cornwall, and highly valued and sought after on the market. This is a beautiful "floater" crystal of Carlsbad-twinned Orthoclase which has been a pseudomorph by Kaolinite from one of the various clay pit localities in Cornwall. The piece is complete all the way around, and has retained it's sharp original crystal form with a beautiful egg-shell white color. You can see small embedded flakes of silvery-golden Muscovite on one side of the piece. Originally priced in our inventory at $1,750 a few years ago, but probably worth more today. Great old classic material from Cornwall. I'm told that these are called "pig's eggs" for whatever reason. The piece is from the collection of Rob Sielecki and comes with his label.
