Item Description

A classic specimen of the most famous Rhodochrosites in the world. The Sweet Home Mine is one of the most iconic localities extant due to its production of the finest quality red rhombic Rhodochrosite extant. This piece is from the early mining done by Collector's Edge (possibly from the Raspberry pocket) featuring very sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy, reddish-pink rhombohedra of Rhodochrosite associated with minor white "needle" Quartz and sulfides (Sphalerite, Tetrahedrite and Pyrite) on matrix. The main crystal measures 1.2 cm, and the piece is in excellent overall condition, with no serious damage of note. I don't have to tell you that the value of these specimens keeps rising, and pieces like this are becoming harder to find on the market. This one was priced at $2,450 in the inventory.
