Item Description

The 1990's brought the discovery of these quite distinctive, twinned, golden Calcites from Rudny. The form, color, and transparency are all excellent, and the mix of frosted and glassy faces creates a fascinating aesthetic that speaks of geometry and architecture. The condition of the piece is very good, with just a few minor bruises that are hardly noticeable. With the largest of the Calcite crystals about 3.6 cm, this is a very good, highly representative specimen from this well-known find. Please note that no more have been found since the early mining of these, so good Rudny Calcites are seldom available. And, most were off matrix. Balanced matrix specimens like this were NEVER common. This is probably 20 years old, or more. Valued $1500-1800
