Item Description

Dramatic cluster of four sharp, complex deeply phantomed Fluorite crystals that stand en echelon on a Quartz crystal matrix. The gemmy, light green Fluorite crystals are cubes, but the core of each crystal is a purple, octahedral Fluorite phantom within. The largest Fluorite reaches 2.8 cm on edge, and the visuals are clearly excellent. The Calcites are stacked clusters of subhedral crystals, with the longest cluster being 2.2 cm. The matrix is solid Quartz crystals, with the surface being all the terminations. A very aesthetic cabinet-sized combination piece, with great balance and definition. An older specimen, collected in the 1990s, from the Dr Steve Smale collection of China minerals. Valued $1800
