Item Description

Superb cluster of absolutely water-clear, mint green Fluorites from one of the mines in the Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field of China. The Fluorites are excellently formed cubes, TOTALLY gemmy, with beveled edges that create a most distinctive look. The largest cube is 5.5 cm. There was contact at one end, and the bottom was sawed in order to protect and preserve the internal crystals. If you look closely, you can see there is a cluster of stepped, white-coated crystals at the core of this cluster. They are perfectly visible to the naked eye, and it took some work with the camera for them to show up properly in the pics. They are amazing to see, and add even more to the outstanding aesthetics of this cabinet specimen. Much better in person, even. Excellent purple fluorescence. ex Steve Smale Collection, from the 1990s, deacessioned to me in a recent trade when we found some old flats in his closets. Valued $2000
