Item Description

Fluorite specimens from the Jaimina Mine are some of the most distinctive, eye-catching and beautifully crystallized examples from any Fluorite-producing locality in Spain. This hefty, large cabinet display specimen features wonderful, very gemmy (virtually water clear in some areas), blue and purple "phantom" cubic crystal of Fluorite measuring up to 8.3 cm on edge. The edges of the cubes show beautiful dodecahedral modifications for a great touch. The piece is in good shape overall, but there are a handful of nicks / dings that keep it from being 100% perfect. Originally this piece was priced in the inventory at $4,500, but the damaged crystals unfortunately are in noticeable places, so to offer it for a mere $499 is an incredible bargain as you cannot dream of buying a piece of this size and quality for that kind of money today. It's not a pristine specimen, but it's large and showy as long as you don't mind a bit of damage. As I said, the crystals are really gemmy and they were incredibly difficult to photograph, and honestly the piece looks better in person. A very worthwhile and attractive Fluorite specimen from this well known Fluorite producing district. The specimen comes from the collection of Brian Kosnar and comes with a FREE custom lucite base for easy display. PLEASE NOTE: This piece weighs a whopping 2,637 grams (nearly 6 pounds), so there will be a necessary additional shipping charge, so please keep this in mind when bidding and feel free to contact us ahead of time if you have any questions.
