Item Description

From the find around 10-15 years ago that produced some of the finest quality Pyrites from Peru in recent memory. Though the crystals are not the largest ever found, they are remarkably sharp and well-formed with brilliant speldent luster. This piece hosts several gorgeous, glowing golden metallic cubes of Pyrite showing highly reflective faces sitting atop prismatic, white / colorless, Quartz crystals. If you look closely, you can see small, thin dodecahedral modififcations on the edges of each Pyrite cube, which is rare for the species in my experience. The broad cube faces shows slight striations, which actually look like the beggining of the highly sought after "cathedral" faces seen in Pyrites from places like Leadville, Colorado. The largest Pyrite measures 2.7 cm. Only a few very minor imperfections that I can see with the naked eye on the display side, but please note it is contacted on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall. Valued at $1,750. The piece comes with a FREE custom lucite base for display as well.
