Item Description

This is a great small cabinet specimen featuring a classic, beautiful, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, lovely yellow green color crystals of Brazilianite from the type locality - which produced the finest crystals of the species extant. This one is definitely an OLD specimen from the early finds in the mid 20th century. The quality is good on this piece as the main crystal is very good sized, the faces on all crystals are smooth, and the gemminess is certainly above average. That classic color is unmistakable, combined with the distinctive habit of the crystals along with minor associated golden Muscovite. The front of the crystal main is nearly 100% complete, but the back of the piece is cleave where it came off the matrix. It's still a very good quality and eye-catching Brazilianite specimen, and this 75+ year old material is highly sought after by collectors. Valued at $2,000 based upon the quality, color, size and the fact that it's old material along.
