Item Description

Gorgeous, gemmy, intensely purple, grape-like Fluorite cuboctahedrons - with the largest composite group measuring 4.2 cm across are richly and aesthetically scattered on a thick hefty mound of banded and etched Quartz from a discovery over 10 years ago at the De 'an Mine in China. The Fluorite crystal faces actually have a slight curve to them, which is not terribly common for this material. On the surface, the color is a dark purple hue, but when backlit, the color has a slight pinkish tinge to it under halogen light, while LED lights show more of a blue tone. A superb specimen for the size, given the coverage and quality of the grape-juice-colored crystals. Vritually no damage of note, outside of the periphery / base where it was removed from the pocket. PLEASE NOTE: This specimen is heavy, weighing in at 2.4 kilos (5.4 pounds), and it will require an additional shipping charge, so please keep this in mind when bidding. This piece has a $2,500 price tag on it in the inventory.
