Fluorite (LARGE "phantom" crystals)

A impressive, large, GEMMY Fluorite crystal group weighs in at a whopping 1,186 grams (over 2.5 pounds). The piece is in great shape on the display side showing superb cubic form with modified dodecahedral modifications on the edges which have a stepped growth. It is close to what I would call a floater as it's actually healed (re-healed) / re-crystallized on the backside with only VERY minor imperfections in a few places. It has gorgeous phantoms and is extraordinarily gemmy and transparent for a fluorite this size. In person, depending on the light spectrum, the color shows beautiful tones of blue, green and lavender. The phantoms are well-defined, but again can be more or less sharp depending on the lighting (angle) and intensity (muted light shows them better). A very showy, fine quality, large and impressive display specimen of this classic and beloved material. These specimens don't get the attention they deserve as they compare very well against equal specimens from southern Illinois. The piece comes with a FREE custom lucite base.
