Item Description

Absolutely first-rate specimen of Dioptase with saturated top color, and one of the true Holy Grails of Tsumeb, the greatest mine of them all. The luster on these deep-green crystals is superb (mirror-like, if you prefer), and the crystals completely cover both sides of the knob of matrix, creating a marvelous, 360-degree specimen. If that wasn't enough, there is a very attractive, preferential coating of Duftite on many of the Dioptase crystals. Preferential mineralization such as this adds considerably to the mineralogical and visual interest. This is a superb small cab, with great aesthetics that are, in reality, much better yet in person. From the famous finds in the mid 1980s (circa 1985). A stylish and unusual specimen. Valued $3500-5000
