Item Description

Liroconite is a very rare copper species found in the upper oxidized zones of just a few deposits, most notably the Type Locality in/under St. Day, Cornwall, England. This small cab has both the classic blue Liroconite and the rarer green-colored variety of Liroconite crystals. The largest of the crystals, nestled nicely in the main pocket, is a full 9 mm. As with all the Liroconites on this fine piece, the color and luster are excellent. I am told that all good specimens we see today came out of the ground by the 1860s, at the latest. Pieces of this quality and richness are scarce on the market, being available so rarely. This is out of the collection of well-known Italian collector Dr. Franceso Bedogne'. A significant large minaiture, valued $3000-4000.
