Item Description

Mount Saint-Hilaire is one of the world's most significant localities, and produces many "best in the world" specimens and very distinctive looking species. Even common species like Rhodochrosite are notably distinctive from this incredible locality. This piece features sharp, well-formed, lustrous, GEMMY, trigonal red crystals of complexly twinned Rhodochrosite. A cool thumbnail specimen, and some of the most unique crystallized Rhodochrosite extant. Do not miss out on this one, I'm told that collecting at the quarry is now restricted by new ownership, so specimens will not be as easy to obtain as they have been for years. Ex Charlie Key personal collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
