Item Description

A beautiful and classic sharp, blocky rich salmon colored Serandite crystal from the famous locality at Mont Saint-Hilaire. The sides of the crystals are partially etched, and the termination is actually hollow ("skeletal") showing an opening where some grey Natrolite crytals have grown. Minor black Aegirine can be seen on the piece as well. Very attractive, and harder to find on the market as I'm told that collecting at the quarry is now restricted by new ownership, so specimens will not be as easy to obtain as they have been for years. Ex Charlie Key personal collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
