Item Description

This might be the only piece of this particular association that we've had to offer in the auctions. I've seen a handful of prismatic Aquamarine crystals from the Huanggang Mine in Inner Mongolia, but this is honestly the first one we've offered with a GREEN FLUORITE association. A 1.1 cm group of gemmy, rich green colored Fluorites are beautifully perched near the termination of the sharp, lustrous, prismatic hexagonal Aquamarine crystal. The Aqua is slightly zoned showing lighter and richer blue hues in different areas. It's prettier in person, and was honestly a bit difficult to photograph. It's certainly a rare combo for China, and would make a great addition to a gem crystal collection, a Chinese suite or a specifically a collection of minerals from the prolific Huanggang Mine. Valued at $2,500. Ex Dr. Steven Smale Collection. Along with amassing one of the finest private mineral collections in the world, Steve is a renowned mathematician. His accomplishments include being awarded the Fields Medal in 1966 along with being the awarded the Wolf Prize in mathematics in 2007.
