Item Description

A beautiful and classic "rosette"-shaped group of Polylithionite mica measuring 1.6 cm across sitting on a dark brown "sword"-shaped prismatic crystal of Serandite from this historic and HIGHLY prolific locailty at Mont Saint-Hilaire. Small yellow crystals of Leucophanite can be seen on the specimen as well. Good quality and hard to find on the market these days. It is now difficult to obtain specimens from this locality as collecting has been limited / reduced in recent years, so if you collect minerals from this world famous quarry, don't miss out on this attractive miniature. Very aesthetic to boot! Originally priced at $950. Ex Charlie Key personal collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
