Item Description

This locality is well-known for producing some of the finest examples of the less common Tourmaline species Uvite in the world. This attractive thumbnail specimen features several sharp, lustrous, compressed trigonal crytals of Uvite with a rich dark green color sitting aesthetically on colorless / white rhombic Magnesite matrix. It's very three-dimensional and showy from a few angles. The main Uvite measures 1.1 cm across, and shows a rarely seen "c" pinacoid face, as most of these crystals show pyramidal faces. The Uvites are gemmy when backlit, and for the most part, most are damage free, though I can see some contacts around the base of the specimen. Good quality and very showy for this classic material from Brumado.
