Item Description

A classic association specimen from the Sunnyside Mine featuring dozens of small, lustrous, beautiful pink colored rhombos of Rhodochrosite measuring up to 6 mm which are sitting atop a layer of gemmy soft green colored Fluorite on matrix. The Fluorites are complex in their form showing combinations of octahedral, cubic and dodecahedral faces which are oriented into octahedral shaped groups. The Fluorites are quite gemmy and look beautiful in any lighting. You can see small radial "balls" of snow white Quartz on the piece for a wonderful accent. You just don't see these specimens on the market anymore, and this iconic combination of the pink Rhodochrosite with the green Fluorite is famous from the Sunnyside Mine. This piece is from the personal worldwide Fluorite collection of Herb Obodda (#3601) and comes with his label. From the worldwide mineral collection of Michael Garced. Valued at $1,500.
