Item Description

This is not your typical red or orange Quartz from Dal'negorsk, as they are typically very slender crystals with a bright color. These crystals are notably thick for the material and show a rich earthy hue. The color is most likely from iron content, but it also appears that there may be some tan pocket clay included as well near the terminations of some crystals. Additionally there appears to be a secondary light overgrowth of another generation of Quartz in some places, along with a few scattered Calcite rhombs. The piece is in very good condition, as all but one of the terminations are undamaged, and the only real detraction is on the front where the piece was separated from the pocket wall. Very showy, colorful and rare for the locality and Quartz in general. From the worldwide mineral collection of Michael Garced. Valued at $1,500.
