Zoisite / Tanzanite (tri-color) (ex Michael Garced Collection)

An unusual specimen of this beloved material. Tanzanites are world famous for their beautiful color, but one rarely sees bi-color crystals, let alone a tri-color crystal like this. The piece starts out with a sharp, lustrous, gemmy yellow Zoisite termination that transitions into a purple Tanzanite zone in the center with a soft lilac hue at the base. The piece is in good shape, though there are a few nicks, and the lower half of the crystal has some separation marks where it was removed from either another Tanzanite crystal or the pocket wall. A really unusual and eye-catching example of this wonderful material. From the worldwide mineral collection of Michael Garced.
