Item Description

A gorgeous, showy and highly aesthetic display specimen of the famous yellow-green Adamites from the Ojuela Mine. This piece is actually pictured on page 119 of "Segrete Geometrie", the book published in 2015 featuring many great pieces from the Francesco Bedogne collection. A gorgeous 3.2 cm, sparkling, translucent attractive yellow-green colored "pinwheel"-shaped group of Adamite with smaller Adamite crystals and a secondary "pinwheel" sit aesthetically atop the contrasting reddish-brown gossan matrix. No damage that I can see with the naked eye. A true classic from Mexico with beautiful form and visual appeal. Valued at $3,000. From the worldwide collection of famed Italian mineral collector, field collector and author, Francesco Bedogne of Sondrio, Italy (Collection #272). Bedogne wrote dozens of articles and several books about the mineralogy of Italian Alpine localities such as Val Bregaglia, Val Masino, Val Codera, Val Spluga, Valtellina and the famous Val Malenco. He was also the founder of the Valtellinese Mineralogical Institute.
